Saatchi & Saatchi Offices

Occupying the 9th and 10th floors of Quantum Tower (a project also byBatimat Architects), the local offices of the multinational Saatchi & Saatchi are an expression of confidence towards the future.

The challenge of providing geometrically regular interior architecture with decent workplaces in an existing irregular layout resulted in a plan layered laterally rather than one with a predominantly radial configuration, as one would expect. An access feature is the “piston”, as denoted graphically in the plan, which is a curved smooth plaster wall acting as a main circulation regulator in the main lift lobby. It directs people towards the principal access corridor, which penetrates the plan and resembles the passageway of a futuristic starship. A curved, lateral corridor accesses all office spaces, which are arranged hierarchically.

Richness of materials, exotic wood veneers, sandblasted glass partitions, special lighting effects, stylish built-in furniture partitions, designer furniture and posh detailing are all factors that contribute to the prevailing vigorous and optimistic atmosphere. The scheme’s multiplayer transparency creates a richness further enhanced by the plastic curves, regular and irregular geometries, light and heavy materials, degrees of natural illumination penetrability, etc.

Contrasts between artificially illuminated areas and more subtle zones further enhance the atmosphere of a comfortable, harmonious atmosphere.
